What a day at GES! 🌟 First it was already bigger than exciting that GES was selected to join the very first cohort of Disney Musicals in Schools: Stage Connect! Fewer than 100 schools nationwide were chosen, and Disney decided that GES was the perfect fit to help launch this new tradition of theatre education.
But then … the magic dialed all the way up. In the middle of rehearsal, while Disney videographers were filming, who should walk in but MICKEY MOUSE himself, all the way from Orlando! 🐭✨
He watched the students rehearse, handed out little stuffed Mickeys to every performer, gave out hugs, and posed for what felt like a million photos. The kids were absolutely starstruck… and honestly, so were the adults. It was pure joy from wall to wall. An unforgettable, truly magical day at GES!
More about our production coming soon — and trust us, you’ll want to see what these amazing students are creating. Check out all the photos on the CCPS Flickr page: tinyurl.com/33hw5cmh

Yesterday we were honored to have Maryland State Superintendent Dr. Carey Wright visit the Caroline Family at Greensboro Elementary School! Dr. Wright brought along an enthusiastic team that included Maryland Teacher of the Year Alonna Soward-Puryear, and State Board Members Dr. Bell and Mr. Greer. During their visit, they observed teachers working with students in large and small groups, discussing problem‑solving strategies, and engaging in tasks that required focus and collaboration. The visit offered a great view of the day‑to‑day learning taking place in all our classrooms!
